AIS Intelligence provides web tools and an API delivering vessel-position data and derived analytics ("the Service") sourced from Automatic Identification System (AIS) radio broadcasts. By creating an account, using an API key, or using the Service you agree to these Terms.
The Service is for informational and analytical purposes only. It must not be used for navigation, collision avoidance, or any safety-of-life purpose. AIS data originates from third-party radio broadcasts; coverage gaps, delays, and errors are expected. We make no guarantee of accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any position or derived analytic.
Keep your API key confidential; you are responsible for all use under your key. Each plan has documented rate limits; we may throttle or suspend traffic that exceeds them or that degrades the Service for others. Trial keys expire automatically.
You agree not to: use the Service for unlawful purposes; resell, sublicense, or redistribute raw data feeds as a competing data service without our written consent; probe, disrupt, or circumvent limits or security; or misrepresent Service data as certified navigational information.
Paid plans are billed monthly in USD via Stripe and renew automatically. You can cancel any time via the billing portal (/portal); cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We may change prices with at least 30 days notice.
We retain all rights in the Service, software, and site content. Factual vessel positions broadcast over AIS are not claimed as proprietary; attribution to AIS Intelligence is appreciated when you publish material derived from the Service.
The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE." We aim for high availability (see /status) but do not warrant uninterrupted operation except as separately agreed in an Enterprise SLA.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the three (3) months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for decisions made in reliance on AIS-derived data.
You will indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your unlawful use of the Service or your breach of these Terms.
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate keys for non-payment, abuse, or breach of these Terms; where practical we will notify you first.
We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted here and, for paying customers, notified by email. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Hawaii, USA; venue is Honolulu, Hawaii.
